What is Juvederm Volbella® XC?

The demand for fuller lips continues to rise, but many people prefer a more natural look when opting for lip fillers. Juvederm Volbella XC is designed to provide subtle lip enhancement. It can also smooth out laugh lines, marionette lines, and the vertical lip lines commonly known as “smoker’s lines.” While it still uses hyaluronic acid, this formulation has a softer consistency compared to previous Juvederm products.

One of Volbella’s key features is that it induces less swelling than some other dermal fillers in the Juvederm range, making it ideal for fine lines and wrinkles, including those around the mouth. It is also suitable for injecting into the delicate skin under the eyes, or “tear troughs,” since it is less likely to cause the swelling or bluish discoloration sometimes seen with thicker fillers, such as the Tyndall effect.

Who is a Candidate?

Ideal candidates for Juvederm Volbella XC include those with thinning lips seeking a subtle plump or individuals looking to soften vertical lip lines. It is also effective for treating hollow areas under the eyes. People with multiple severe allergies or very thin skin may need to explore alternative treatments. The Juvederm Volbella Procedure

The procedure begins with cleansing the treatment area, and although Volbella injections are generally well-tolerated, a topical numbing cream may be used to reduce any discomfort. Dr. Sweat will then administer the gel into the target areas. Once the treatment is complete, patients can resume their normal activities right away.
