What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a non-invasive skincare treatment that involves exfoliating the skin to remove dead cells, debris, and fine facial hair. This procedure helps brighten and smooth the skin, leaving it with a refreshed and healthy appearance. By eliminating the top layers of skin, dermaplaning boosts skin cell turnover and supports overall skin health, helping to reveal a clearer and more radiant complexion.
Who is a Candidate?
While dermaplaning offers a variety of benefits, it is not suitable for everyone. Individuals with conditions like hirsutism (excessive hair growth due to hormonal imbalances) should consider alternative treatments, as dermaplaning may lead to thicker or darker hair regrowth. Additionally, those with severe skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, cystic acne, or extremely sensitive skin should wait until these issues are managed before undergoing dermaplaning. A consultation with a professional will help determine whether dermaplaning is a good fit for your skin.

The Dermaplaning Process
Dermaplaning is a straightforward procedure performed by a trained technician using a sterile surgical blade. The blade is gently moved at a 45-degree angle across the skin to remove dead skin cells, debris, and fine facial hair. This non-painful procedure is quick and comfortable, offering visible results with minimal discomfort. This treatment can be used on various areas of the face, including the following.

of Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning provides several skincare benefits, including:
Post-Treatment Care
After dermaplaning, it is recommended to avoid excessive sun exposure or heat for about three days. For the next week or two, refrain from using exfoliants, AHAs, BHAs, or retinol, and apply sunscreen regularly to protect the skin. It’s also advised to postpone treatments like chemical peels or laser treatments during this period.
To achieve the best results, it’s suggested to schedule dermaplaning sessions every four weeks. After the treatment, you may experience slight redness, but it will resolve quickly.
